Radio Turns Off on Its Own

Hi All,

I got a 03 1.9dti megavan (megane van) on Friday (my first Renault) but the radio needed coded. I got the code from Renault (free of charge) and entered it into the radio after doing master reset (hold 2 & 5 when you turn the radio on).

The radio started working so I thought great.

What happens now is that once the radio has been on for 20 minutes I get a beep and then it turns off. If I push the power button it comes back on again and then 20 minutes later - beep and it turns off.

Has anybody came accross this before? Do you know how to fix it?

Mine used to do this too and I found it was the fuse, the guy i got it from instead of replacing the blown fuse decided to wrap a piece of wire around it instead to make the connection ....... i replaced the fuse and have never had the problem again

On our Clio if the ignition is off ie right off no key
in the lock pushing the radio button switches it on
for 20 or 30 min cant remember exactly, so maybe
the fuse that connects the radio to the ignition
as blown, the radio would then act as if no key
was in the lock.

Who would design a vehicle that falls over when you stop?

If you find a fix for your problem please let us know it will help others.

it does sound as if it is a fuse problem. with it turning off within a certain time normal spells out that it thinks theres no ignition. if the fuse is fine it ay be worth checking that the temp and permenent live are connected right.
