I have a confession to make Lag I did buy one of those code readers.

I asked on here if I had to have the ABS light turned off after solving the problem and nobody replied. I even bumped my own post but still nothing As I didn't fancy paying the local mobile guy 40 a time to see see if I had solved the problem I splashed out a bought it.

No I don't believe everything it tells me but it did tell me that I hadn't solved the problem by replacing the wheel sensors I ended up having to replace the ABS ecu . Luckily I had bought one from a very nice chap in the west country so that didn't cost anything.

They have their uses but dont believe everything it tells you:
Currently in planmeca's garage:
Renault Laguna 1.8 16v x 2 and a lot of other things. could really do with a tidy up to be honest I'll do it tomorrow

I've tried reading the codes as a "MEGANE/SCEN", "SCENIC II" and "LAGUNA" but none work.

It was giving me codes for the rear wheel speed sensors (both sides) and I can't remember the ABS code off the top of my head.

I bought this for the same reason as Planmeca, and I was assured this would work with my car. It also says here that it's compatible with renaults from 1996.

I even installed the updates but nothing is working.

Does anyone have any more ideas? I bought it online from ecufix, but when I emailed him he asked if the ignition was on and now he won't reply to emails.

Most likely a silly advise: When reading the engine ECU , do you select Renault, Megane/Scenic, Diesel engine (not Petrol engine)?

I have found there are some software issues with the MaxiDiag series of scanners. (Vauxhall/Opel software is really bad). I have written to Autel, the Chinese manufacturer but have received no response - no acknowledgement.

Best place for updates is Sealey. There is currently no further update for yours if you already have installed version 2.00.
Currently in tolsen's garage:
Trekka 1.9 DCI, Smart Cabrio Cdi (65 - 85 MPG) & Ford Transit 2.2 Duratorq TDCi

Thanks for the reply Tolsen.

I've tried connecting as a diesel and I even tried connecting as a petrol, just in case.

I did some updates but I'll try again with the ones on the Sealey site.

Hi all,

How did it go, ScenicRoute?

I am about to purchase one of these, to my Megane II 2003. But I dont want to sit there and get almost no use for it, and some chinese ppl that wont answer.

I am grateful for the link to Sealeys, as it seem to be some useful company to deal with, however they are rather expensive. Worth it if oen get good support however.

Best regards,
Lars Ahlstrom
