Cool iain42

Hi ,

I am new to this forum and i am looking for a bit of advice or a starter for ten!

I have a Scenic 2 (53reg) and amongst all the common faults that i have encountered with this car i have now come up against a problem with the boot. The boot will not open. There is no problem with the power going to the boot, heated winodw etc is working fine, but the button to open the boot appears not to be working and a such i have to go into the boot and open it from within. The key fob is working fine and activates the lights etc when it should be locking and opening the car.

Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated

I had the same problem with my Lag.

strip the plastic casing from the lock and give it a good clean and then as 5th wheel says soak it in wd40

Unhappy iain 42

Thanks for the reply , will give it a go and see what happens. Just typical i have just replaced the dashboard on the Scenic now to find that the car appears to have a flat battery every 3 or 4 days. No problem with the battery only a week old, the alternator and starter motor have been tested and are in working order. When i go to jump start the car the jumpleads only need to touch the terminals , without the engine of the other car turning over, and it starts no problem. The new scenic is truly the worst car i have ever owned
