1999 Traffic fuse problem

Is there anyone who knows the answers to the following questions :

Where is the immobiliser unit on the above model,
where is the main fuse on the traffic,
my mate was giving me a jump start ( as i left the interior light on agian) he decided to put the earth to the exhaust manifold and there was a loud click like a fuse going but despite two hours of looking neither of us could find the main fuse,

The click happened as i turned her over the starter momentaraly engaged but the fuse ( or somthing) went and now there are no electrics at all no dash light absolutly nothing,

I would really appreciate any advice or help from members

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Some Renaults have a fuse built into the main positive feed cable from the battery, you could check to see that the cables from the battery have 12 volts running all the way down through them for a start.

The immobiliser won't cut all the electrics,so don't panic about that.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
