MK3 electrics

Hi, I've searched the forums and am having difficulty in finding an answer. Does anyone have/had a 2001/mk3 espace and fitted their own towbar. I am had conflicting reports from towbar firms as to the correct wiring kit required for twin electrics, some say you can connect into the lights, other say the espace is a multiplexed/can-bus system and so need a dedicated kit. Another says there is a dedictaed plug in the bonnet and a fuse in the passenger footwell, but have had a look in the fusebox and there is no "towbar" symbol fuse as stated by the firm. If anyone has fitted there own towbar electrics please get in touch so I can pick your brains.

I'm pretty sure the genuine Renault wiring kit for the lights at least just hijacks the plugs to the rear lights.I'm not 100% sure though.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....
