outside temperature sensor reading is erratic

I have an 2.2 dci laguna and the outside temperature sensor reading is erratic . can any one tell me if this would effect the running of the air con. as this seams to be acting funny as well. Thanks

shouldnt really effect it as there two different systems you should get your aircon checked halfords do it for free but just be wise to the your system is nearly empty remark i heard a few times now (money making scam i think so!!!!!!)

Not sure about Renaults but Saab's use a combination of interior/exterior/solar sensor to determine how the aircon functions. It wouldn't surprise me if Renault used a similar system minus the solar (dome) sensor you see on the dash top of all Saab's.

I believe I remember reading a post somewhere on the forum where it said the air-con won't kick in if the outside temp is under 5 degres C. So if the outside temp sensor is dodgy there might be an effect
