Very odd window problem

I arrived home yesterday to find the rear drivers side window had dropped (regulator clip broken). I got new clips from Renault (3.34!! bargain) & fitted them this evening.

All works fine now except..... The window works in the opposite way i.e. pulling the switch makes it go down & pushing it makes it go up! I've checked the connections & as dozy as I am, it seems that it's impossible to be able to reconnect the switches & motor with the polaritys reversed. It wouldn't be a problem, except when I deadlock the car (double click the keyring) the window opens instead of shutting!
Any ideas on this one greatly appreciated!

Further to yesterdays post, I took the passenger side door panel off to change the other clip (before it failed) & tried to see if there was any difference to the other window mechanism.
The only difference I could see was the sticker on the motor housing was facing inside the door. I had taken the housing off to enable me to move the pulley to fit the clip.
I took door panel off the drivers side door & noticed that the stick on the motor housing was facing the other direction, so decided to removed it and replace it facing inside the door & bingo! It worked. All sorted.
If it helps anyone I can post pics of the whole mechanism. Just let me know!
