Laguna 2 Uch replacement

Working in the South of Ireland for a bit and had a fault with my 2002 laguna Privlidge 1.8 petrol. Took it into the dealer and the have said there is water damage to the Uch and fuse box. They also gave me a quote for 2,000 to repair. I have contacted every ecu repair company there is and they all have came back with no for repair or replacement. One company said they could override the immobiliser on the UCH and get it on the road unfortunately I have lost their details. Any suggestions - I can get a fuse box from a breaker easily enough but is there anyone out there that can help.
A drastic thought was could I salvage a new UCH & set of cards from a breaker, would I need a new card reader (Only replced the one have 6 months ago for 900)
Many thanks
