Maybe it because they make left and right drive models of the same vehicle and if they left a bulb out the UCH may throw its dummy out of the pram. You could also draw up a check list like pilots of aircraft have - a wee list of things to do before I get out onto the tarmac such as:-
1. Check handbrake
2. Leave in gear.
3. Lights out
4. Radio off
5. Passengers all gone
6. Close windows
Oh remove key from ignition Oh gotta go back in for my wallet.

You'd soon learn the drill

Alternatively you could convert the windows back to manual operation

Points 1- 5 are pre-programmed from 30 someting years of driving, but like I said I'm a miserable sod, so do you know of a cheap hypnotist who can program point 6 into me?
Forgetting your wallet works the first few times but she'll soon get wise.
I like manual windows (sounds like a Spanish window cleaner) they seem to work a lot quicker!
