Car won't start this morning.

Hi all, after a heavy nights rain and the car parked on the drive nose down, the car wont start this morning. Keycard in but the car does not unlock the steering column or preheat the plus, just the red alarm light flashes quickly. Looks like water has come in from the window seal or sunroof and ran all the way down to the fusebox on the drivers side.

AA on their way but any advice?

If you can see that the fuse box is wet get the hair dryer out & try drying it out with warm air, then I would check all of the fuses one at a time to make sure they are ok.

You need to find the source of the leak & cure it...I believe there are drain holes under the scuttle panel (below the wipers) that get bunged up...make sure they are free.

Hi dr. sarf

Did the very nice man fix your problem this morning? I ask because my Espace seems to have done exactly the same thing, only while I was shopping with the wife and kids. No lights on the dash, save for the alarm light.

My breakdown service couldn't fix it so just towed me home. Trouble is, they had to release the electronic handbrake and without the electrics I can't re-engage it so the car is parked on hill, in gear and bricks under the tyres. Also, the steering lock is still on and so the car is parked on the road on the skew. Any suggestions about a fix would be greatly appreciated.
