Laguna II dashboard gone haywire

Used my car earlier today, worked fine. When I went to start it again on inserting the card ticking noises from the dash and various lights, like the airbag light, tyre pressure indicator, radio and heater lights flash on and off. Removed the card and all this carrys on for a bit before stopping. I have something similar when my son ran the fuel dry and flattened the battery but there is fuel and the battery is not flat.

dashboard problem - scenic ii

im having a similar problem with my 2004 Scenic ii. my partner ran it to empty not long ago and its not been the same since, so much so that the other day i lost the whole display on the lcd screen, no mph or anything...driving blind!

ive been reading some of these posts and it seems that a new dash is the probable answer. the only thing that gives me hope is that when the lcd was on its way out, it was flickering to the beat of the music i was playing, and then with the vibrations of the engine, as if there was a loose connection somewhere.

im contemplating getting my hands dirty and getting under the dash o have a look.

is this an easy process?

any answers would be fantastic.
