As far as i can see it's not easy to connect an aftermarket head unit to the dashboard display.
I haven't replaced the head unit in my scenic for this very reason.
Some Sony units will work with a connects2 interface for about 60 and i believe Alpine do an interface but it costs about 150 and only works with the most expensive Alpine head units.

To be honest, I wouldn't bother trying to connect your new stereo to the Clio in Car Dash, as in my honest opinion, I don't think you will benifit anything from it.

I too wanted to do exactly the same thing with my Sony head unit, but I was advised that such things as "Artist" and "Track" would not come up on the display. (Sorry if incorrect)

The only things I've had success with are the Steering Stalk adaptor and the Ipod Adaptor. (Sony Specific)
