Hi, most second hand parts suppliers write the model ie clio2 and possibly year and engine size, when you have fitted it and bled brakes drive behind another car and get them to indicate their speed ie 30mph and check if your car is doing same speed ,if so then nothing else should be done.

Apart from the ABS controller being faulty there are a number of other possibilities which may be worth checking first.
It could be a duff electrical connection to the ABS controller. If this aspect is faulty and the diagnostic equipment can't communicate with it - then it assumes the unit itself to be faulty. Doh - dumb computers LOL!!

Secondly it may be worth checking the wiring loom to the ECU as it may be damaged - a common fault on the Clios.

Both checks would cost very little to do and may be the problem.

When selecting another ABS unit it may be prudent to cross check part numbers.
