sorry scatz didn't see ur link there. that is the second one ive been looking at. what ive heard that is the original one that the car came with from new?

I should imagine either of those (cassette or CD) will do the job as they are both the type that would have been in a MKI PhI & II. It all depends on the option the original purchaser decided upon as to whether it was a cassette or CD that was in there originally.

As I mentioned, as long as the wiring hasn't been tampered with then you should have no problem being able to utilise both the remote screen and steering wheel controls
