your better off reading the hand book, not all are the same depending on 2 or 3 button cards and also what country is was configured for. you'll only be more confused

On the Initiale 3 button version with UK standard:

You walk up to the car, put your hand over the handle and break the IR beam. The door is head to unlock and you pull the handle to open the door. Once inside, you press the start button. At all times the key can remain in your pocket. This does not work on any other door. If you want to access elsewhere, you need to press the unlock button on the keycard twice (once just unlocks the front door).

When leaving the car, walk away from the car with the card in your pocket. The car will automatically lock and make a quiet horn noise (Walk Away Locking). This is normal locking, not deadlocking.

If however you lock the car manually by using the lock button on the remote (once to normally lock, twice to deadlock), until you next press the start button, you will have to manually unlock and lock the car.

Fantastic system in my opinion.
