Car stereo removal

Once again I am seeking guidance from you fine chappies.

I want to remove the Cabasse stereo from the dash so I can install my Parrot hands free.

What removal tools will I need and is there anything thing I need to watch for.

I'm not sure about the name, but the tools are available from Halfords. They're two 'V' shaped pieces of metal, round in cross-section, but with the ends shaped so that they engage with the catches behind the stereo.

As for fitting, the only thing you really need is the radio code. I fitted the TomTom permanent install kit in my 2002 Privelege with Carminat, so the install should be much the same. Apart from there being little room to play with behind the dash, it's all pretty straightforward. I found it easier to pop the sat-nav controller out too (it uses the same keys as the stereo.)

I've made my own a couple of times, simply use something like a bit of an aluminium welding rod (of the correctish diameter).

4 small allen keys or maybe coat hanger wire may work :-)

As others have said either use the proper wire tools from halfords or a cut down & shaped wire coat hanger.
