2006 Clio Auto "Speed Limiter --- MPH in dashboard display

Hi Everyone
My wife's 06 Clio Auto suddenly displayed the message "Speed Limiter - - - MPH". It does not seem to have affected the car's performance or driveability. Can anyone tell me what this means? It is about 2 months out of warranty, and last year the torque converter had to be replaced! Mileage is about 8000 miles.

SOunds like the car might have cruise control and the button has been inadvertantly switched on. That's certainly a cruise control display anyway and nothing to worry about.

Don't know where the switches are on a clio but most turn on to the right of the steering column next to the headlight adjuster switch and have controls on the steering wheel itself.

Hopefully someone with a cruise-control enabled Clio will be able to help you further;-)
