12v socket/cigarette lighter

Hope you can help. Does the Laguna II have standard 12v sockets/cigarette lighter? I have bought a Halfords in car vacuum cleaner which says it's 12v, but it doesn't fit the Laguna sockets! It seems that 2 metal strips on the adapter that is stopping it fit in the hole. Just wondered if different cars have different systems. I just thought a 12v socket was a 12v socket no matter what the car!

As far as I know it does. I've never had an issue with anything I plugged into them. . Have you checked the vaccuum in all of them ?

IIRC there should be four of them. 1 in the ashtray, 1 in the centre console / armrest, 1 in the boot, and 1 in between the front seats in the back on the centre console / armrest.
