Hmm, I think you're onto something here.

In Renault's defence, I've had much worse service from Ford and Vauxhall, and have only ever had better from Mazda. Most of the time, they get it right. It's just easier to remember the times when they got it wrong.
If they get it wrong once, that's once too often. They are supposed to be professional and we pay them to do it right not to fluck something else up.... I think that when paying up to 100 per hour for their time, we are entitled to that much at the very least..... Don't you think????

Eveybody makes mistakes. As I see it, it's only unacceptable if those mistakes have serious and irreversible implications. Apart from my aversion to being educated, it's the main reason why I could never have become a doctor. I know I make mistakes too.

If they've cocked something up, then they should apologise, sort it at your convenience free of charge, and supply you with a loan vehicle while yours is in for the remedial work. And in fairness, Renault have generally been pretty good (though they prefer not to admit liability, probably for legal reasons.)

As long as they do their best to rectify their mistakes, and they don't make too many of them, then I can accept that they're human and not infallible. I only really hold a grudge when they give me the car back in a dangerous condition, which as I've mentioned elsewhere has actually happened twice.
