yes and no , what i can do is get a reading from the damaged chip availiable , then clone that info to a solid state chip and problem solved , clios and kangoo of this year and model suffer from the coil that holds the info , they die a slow death , usually you will notice the occasional non start , deteriorating to the point of no start at all possibly over a period of months , some people think they have solved it by squeezing the remote while turning the key in the ignition , all they are doing is prolonging the eventuality of a new key

Spoke to the guy i bought it off and he said he will book it into renault for me is this my best bet?
Van starts okay at the mo but when i drive off the central locking kicks in and locks all the doors??
Currently in 102murphy's garage:

All that means is he has activated the anti hijack, get in start car, push central locking switch unlock side and hold it down for a few seconds. it should beep 9after say 10 seconds) and the function is off. To put back on, hold the lock side down for same period of time, it will beep again.

When anti hijack is on should lock at 10kmh (about 6mph).

If locked you can still get out by pulling door handle.

Sounds like central locking works.

Err have you the owners manual by chance as it tells you all this? This is not a fault as such, most new cars do this.

Key fault

Central locking switch may be disconnected as some british gas vans were
