Out of interest, do your mirrors work? There is a circuit breaker in the fusebox, number 6 I think, for these, the clock and radio display.

If you need to replace the actual display you have to get the top of the dash off; two screws, 1 under each dash top speaker grill. These just lift off.
Then with the palm of your hand, bang firmly in an upward direction along the front edge of the dashtop.
It will come off quite easily.

You will then be able to see the display assembly, which is just a plastic panel which the bulbs shine through.

You will be able to see what to do now, disconnect the wires, etc.

I have an after market CD player, so don't use the remote anyway.
