glow plug warning ??

hello peeps, just bought a scenic 1.9 DCI 2001, it has been serviced and had a new turbo fitted about 600 mile before... i noticed on the way home a warning light, that i presume is partly glow plug and plus something else, has another zig zag symbol above it came on, as i was doing approx 70 on a main road i slowed down and looked for a layby, by which time it had gone off, stopped, restarted and it was off again. came on again at high speed. got home and phoned the seller and he told me it had happened a couple of times since the turbo had been fitted. i am wondering if it could be oiled up sensor somewhere or damaged / loose pipe. it doesnt have any noticable affects on engine speed, no smoke. just the light on. thanks in advance

The glow-plug light doubles as an injection fault warning light so it could have come on for numerous reasons such as water in the fuel filter, sticking EGR valve, etc, etc. Keep a very close eye on under bonnet levels just in case.

thanks for that, a quick update... last night i was out late, started the car, light went off but on again after 30 secs. decided to carry on for a while as it was 30mph roads, light was on all the time but something i did notice was the temp guage was right on cold, not sure if it had actually moved. after approx 8 miles lights went out and guage rose a little, also noticed it is running cold, and not much heat from heater.... coincidence ? or could it be linked.

As Madnoel says it can be anything to do with the injection system and the various sensors.
Regarding low coolant temperature, I had that problem on my Kangoo Trekka 1.9 Dci (2002). Reading the ECU there was a DTC stating that engine did not reach its normal operating temperature. My wife had previously complained about heater being poor. I suggest you go to a garage and get your ECU read, then post the DTCs and someone might point you in the right direction.

Question Car Has NO Power

Hi, I have a simular problem with my Laguna Dci 02, the Glow Plug Warning light came on and then the car lost power as if the turbo was not working. When the light came on the dash I pulled over and opened the bonnet and heard the Turbo Pressure Solinod making a funny sound that it had never done befor. Once I had turned the car off and back on again it cleared. So I brought a new solinod from Renault for 38 and fitted it and it made NO difference.
Car still starts and will drive but when you put your foot down it seems to be holding back and the engine feels as if it "hunting".
Anyone got any ideas ??
(should of left it in France when I went there last month when the problem first stared) :loser:
