towing wiring fuses?

The offside indicator light and rear light on my towing socket are not working,although the brake lights do! Are there any fuses bult into the towing electrics loom? The tow bar is a 'witter'. vehicle is 2003 laguna 2.2 cdi sports tourer.

It could be something simple like corrosion in the male end of the wiring connections from the trailer or the same with the connections at the towbar end of the wiring, they are usually 2 screws to undo at the trailer socket end to get to the 7 pin connector, the socket at the towbar should have 3 screws going through it with nuts at the back of the plate undo these to release it.

You can get a schematic of which colour wires relate to which circuit online, you may have to cut back all the wires in one or the other of the sockets to give a clean connection if they are corroded, try a liberal dose of vaseline all over the the area were the connections are made, this should help in the future.

BTW if they are corroded snip back to the insulated part of the wiring and then cut this back with about 1/4" of new wire showing and start again.
