battery type for keyfob

whats kind of battery does the keyfob of a Megane 1.6 R Reg - 1998 take - can it get it from say Halfords ?

I assume changing the battery out is a simple process of taking key apart and inserting new battery within a few seconds.

Not sure what battery you need but you should be able to unclip the 2 halves of the fob and then read the battery type without having to remove it.
