rotary switch/clockspring??

I have a 05 Megane 1.9DCI. i recently had new tyres fitted, and after i got my car back noticed there was a clicking noise from the steering wheel and the airbag/service lights came up after a while. the cruise control and speed limiter also do not function off the steering wheel controls.

I have read through the threads and it looks like it is the coil spring or rotary switch, whats the difference please? could this also be caused by a loose connection or is the clicking noise a sign that a major part needs to be replaced? if so which part? will the car need to be put on the computer to have the errors erased or will it sort itself out once the part is working?

thanking you in advance. cheers. Slade

Hi and welcome to the forums

If the airbag light is on and the steering wheel clicks its the rotatary switch that needs replacing.

The airbag light will go out after it has been replaced but I would recommed having the faults erased properly incase of future faults with the airbag system, if the old faults are still on the airbag computer it may lead a technitian in the wrong direction costing both time and money
