Megane Fuel/Trip Computer Fault

Hoping someone out there can help. I have a 2001 Megane 1.9 DCi. It recently died on the side of the motorway and was eventually diagnosed with a faulty fuel uplift pump. The pump was replaced and the car is running well.

Unfortunately, since it has been fixed, the fuel/trip computer is working perfectly well apart from the estimated miles to go to next fill up. This is currently a series of flashing dashes. I know that once the low fuel light comes on it should stop giving its estimate when it's working but I have a full fuel tank and have still got no reading.

I know that the ECU was removed when they were trying to diagnose the original fault (fuel pump), and that the battery has been disconnected.

If it's of any relevance, the analogue fuel gauge is working properly.

Any help with this would be most welcome,

Many thanks in advance,

Smile Megane Fuel/Trip Computer Fault - Fixed !!!!!!

Just an update on the above fault. It seems to be fixed now having played around with it a bit. Since then I have found the following post which was for a Clio, but I think at some point I did do the following which seems to have got it all working.

This was posted by Mr A - not sure how to quote properly so have just cut and paste, but here's the link to his post

"Hi. I think you need to do a dash rest. Press and hold the trip computer button on the end of the stalk. Switch your ignition on whilst still holding the button in. The dash should now go into test mode and you will see the rev counter and speedo going up and down the range. Release the button on the stalk and now press the mileage trip reset button on the dash. Then switch off your ignition, start the car and take it for a run. The functions you lost should now start to work again."

Many thanks to Mr A !!!!!
