Angry Scenic ll newbie, help needed please.

Hi all,
I'm new on here so please treat me gently!
I bought a 53 plate Scenic ll in the summer and the wife drives it mostly. It's had the infamous dashboard replacement done already by the previous owner but we're having problems with the full beam headlights at the moment. It's already been into the local Renault garage for them to look at and surprise, surprise it didn't act up when there. Two weeks down the line and the high beam refuses to work again. Is this a common fault? Any ideas on what it could be would be appreciated. Garage reckoned the relay was fine and all the wiring looms. They did say it could be a faulty fuseboard but wouldn't commit themselves to replacing it in case the problem persisted. 300 quid for a stab in the dark seemed a bit excessive to me so any ideas anyone??

If the garage have ruled out the relay and wiring loom, I'd be more inclined to think it was an electro-mechanical problem, maybe related to the headlights switch.

Stick around though, because there maybe car electricians here.
Currently in hondo's garage:
1.6 Valve-Matic SR. Red hot, toasty feet.
