check the manifold sensor vacuum pipe as this will probabaly be badly split and cause your symptoms. worth checking for 5 piece of rubber pipe before buying ecu etc.

I'm not sure the ECUs are interchangable

thanks for the advice turns out it was only a split in the manifold vacumn pipe

Hi just some quick info....

The ECU cant loose a part of its memory its all or nothing...

You cant just change an ecu (due to immob code and VIN info)

We would suggest you send the ECU to a specialist who can pin point the issue ... Google ECU Rapair
