Scenic Clock light not working

Hi there ,

I have a scenic 2000 automatic 2.0cc

I have installed a new radio in the car the other day
and removed the panel of the cigarette lighter followed by the panel of the air conditioner (thought to make a clean job with wiring)

after this, the clock display shows the time and temp but with no back light (at night all is dark) I have noticed after removing the cigarette panel of again to fix this that I have one wirier (blue) with a connector in the end, not connected to anything. cigarette lighter working o.k and not missing any wires so seems like it dose not connect to that but it is not a long wirier about 10cm.
I cant find were this has disconnected from ???

I have checked all fuses in the car all seem to be o.k
maybe this wirier has nothing to do with this ???
anyone have an idea ????
