18th Birthday...ICE in a 02 clio 1.2?

Hello Chaps
OK....I confess....I don't drive a Renault but:
My eldest is 18 on Boxing day and has asked for a MP3/Ipod stereo to go in his Clio and still have the steering controls work.
I know my way around cars and was wondering what you lot recommend. I presume whatever I buy I will also need an adaptor for the cars own controls to carry on working. I would like to keep it below 120 if possible.

Hi Alan - welcome to the forum.
Yes you are correct - it is possible to fit adaptors to ensure the steering wheel controls can be used but it may depend on the replacement model. Also there is no guarantee youy can retain the head-up dispay function if fitted.
There are a number of companies on-line who supply such adaptors (sometimes refered to as ISO adaptors) but whether its possible to do so within your budget I honestly don't know.
See the link below for starters - it may be worth emailing them for advice.
