05 Laguna Totally Dead - does extended warranty include Renault Assistance?

Hey all,

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post.

I was in hospital for an operation & my car sat idle outside the flat for a couple weeks.

Went out to turn it over yesterday now I'm back on my feet & couldn't get in with my card - changed over the card battery & still no joy.

Got into my car via the manual key on the passengers side & it appears the battery is completely dead - no light when I opened the door, no tell tale click when inserting the card & it certainly wouldn't start.

Sadly my partner has no jump leads, and at that the battery is covered on my Laguna anyway, and I'm not with the RAC/AA.

My Laguna is an 05 plate, bought in March this year with an extended warranty, but I can't find out if this includes Renault Assistance or not?

Joining RAC/AA is awfully expensive as I'd need home start due to this, so was hoping I'd be covered or able to purchase Renault Assistance cover.

Can anyone offer advice on this problem?

My other worry is I'm pretty sure the fuel light was on last time I used the car, so a jump start wouldn't much help!

Thanks in advance

I doubt extended warranty would cover such an event as a run-down battery - it's not as if the car has broken down but if you read the terms of the policy it may give a better clue. Access to the battery is quite easy as it cover is easiy removed - some just clip off others have a small quarter turn screw. Either way the battery will neeed charged or the use of jump leads.
Just because the fuel warning light is on doesn't necessarily mean there will be insufficient fuel for the engine to start although it would be prudent to get a can of fuel added first.
