Cool 1996 Laguna Boot And Radio Problem

HI all i just recently purchased a 1996 laguna rn 2.2d and when i lock the car with the remote the boot dosen't lock and you can still open it withthe button should the boot lock with the remote or can it only be done with the key. If i try to lock it with key the lock just spins round. As for the radio i recently had the battery replaced and the radio is asking for code but don't have the code. is there anyway to find it out. And how easy is it tochange the radio as i have a nother one i can fit.
also are all doors suppose to lock with the key or just the door you locking.

Hi and a very warm welcome to the forums.

1st. Yes the boot should lock with the remote central locking. It sounds as if something has broken or come apart inside the lock.

2nd. The radio code could be with you....
It may even be on the radio unot itself. Silly I know but some write it on the unit for future reference. It may also be on any invoice or service manual that came with the car.
It not you can get it from your local Renault dealer (you will need the Reg no of the car and possibly the chassis no and 10.00 plus VAT)

Fitting an aftermarket stereo is quite straightwards although not too many work with the steering controlls and the digital readout by the clock.

3rd. As daft as it seems the only door that will lock if you are using a key is the one your locking. So none of the others will lock. The only way to lock all the doors is by using the key plip.

Hope this answers all your questions. Kind regards Oily.
