You must be careful if you go for a CD changer that your existing head unit is capable of controlling them. Early 99 and before head units are "Renault Philip's" units, which if they can control a CD changer will actually say "CD Changer Control" somewhere on the fascia. The Mid 99 on head units are of the "Tuner List" variety and I don't know whether they have the script on the front of the unit or not. The easiest way would be to pop the head unit out and look at the label on top of the head unit to check.

Cheap OEM CD Head units are easy to come by on eBay , as I upgraded the system in my car with an eBay purchase and you will retain the steering controls and remote display. After market head unit generally offer limited compatibility with the remote controls and no compatibility with the dash display

Hope this helps.

Would these changers work with the tuner list head unit in my laguna 2, 52 plate? If so I am interested.
