hi all....
i am need of your help.
i have a kangoo which the passenger rear door will not lock or unlock via the c/locking.
i am told this is due to a safety feature when fuelling the car....
does anyone know how to bypass this or know of a simple fix...
many thanks
i have a kangoo van and have the same problem, started this morning.my back doors unlock as usual but my side loading door stays locked, very annoying having to climb through to get tools out of van.Does anyone know how much this will cost to fix/or easy way to fix myself?
It could be just a bad connection on sliding door. if you look at the door post with sliding door open you'll see a 3 connections [brass] about half way up the post clean them up hopfully that's all it its.
Do the same on the door.
ok i will do that, but how do i get the sliding door open?sorry if i sound amateur but i really don't have a clue when it comes to mechanics and electrics, thanks in advance for help and help given:d
Can you open it with the key from outside? If the key just spins in the lock spray some WD40 in to the key hole wait 5 min and try working the lock they do size up.
Other than that climb in thru the back and look at the sliding door about half way thru just below where the glass normaly would have been you'll see a push button, lift it up and you be able to open the door from outside. Hope it works. Greg
can't open from outside because no keyhole in side loading door handle, when i unlock only back doors unlock not side loader.is on same side as petrol cap.as for when i climb in i cant lift the door pin up.is there sumfing behind the panels in back of van that u could try?thankyou agen for help
Hmm mine is on drivers side ex Gas board and no problem lifting the button. It looks like something is broken or sized Ok next stage would be to take off plastic trim from inside. Prise it of a little you'll see the panel is glued in with mastic and it will have some clips there as well. Use something to prise the panel away from the door and cut mastic with Stanley blade as you pulling at it will come out.[be careful not to cut the clips Then look inside the door you should see a rod going from push button to door lock or lock actuator pull or push on it gently and see if it will pop the button. Have good look inside and see if something is broken spray some WD40 and see if it'll frees off. I'm not exactly sure what type of setup is inside the door it could well be that the central locking mechanism is incorporated in the lock itself . But would guess you problem is something sticking by push button or handle . Greg
Have just had exactly this problem and having read above have just removed fuel cap, replaced same - first time no change. Tried again and problem is now resolved.
Fitting a non original fuel cap will render the sliding door on that side permanently closed. There is a description on how the safety interlock works and how to fix in below thread: http://www.renaultforums.co.uk/showthread.php?t=95135
