Renault Scenic II Window fault

Hi all, hopefully somebody can help solve this problem. My Scenic rear o/s window has suffered the infamous fault of going down on its own and not working again. I checked the forums and have now bought 2 regulator/controller boxes off ebay , the part that goes on the motor with a 6 pin connection, however my window now works in the wrong direction and when i double lock the car the window drops down. I have supposedly bought both a n/s and o/s part and they both do the same thing. Can i fix this somehow or not as i am trying to avoid the 300 renault dealer price.
Thanks Guys.

Re: Renault Scenic II Window fault

Hi,

Welcome to the forum,

Its sound like the window just needs resetting but i could be wrong?? there is procedure for this but iam unaware of how to do it,although if you search the forums search facility and look under "window reset procedure" or words to that effect you might find something?

Hope that helps Donald

Re: Renault Scenic II Window fault

To programme the windows lower your window and keep your finger on the down switch for ten seconds.
then wind the window up and again hold the switch in the up position for ten seconds.

Do that with all the windows and hopefully you should be fine.

Red face Re: Renault Scenic II Window fault

Thanks Guys, i have tried resetting the windows to no avail and have subsequently rung Renault UK who have agreed to pay 75% of the repair price as they acknowledge a problem with early Scenic II windows. (As long as the car is no more than 7 years old and under 100k miles.)
To be honest they were really helpful and within 30mins my local dealer had rung me and booked the car in this thursday, hopefully it won't happen again.
Thanks for the replies.

Re: Renault Scenic II Window fault

Why only up to 7 years old? If it was crap from day one, it will still be crap after 8 or more years, so they should make good their faults.
