Hi,
I have suddenly lost a lot of my Laguna's electrics, same thing happend a week ago but all came back within a couple of minutes driving.
Now, gone again, but still have problem now for 2 days. Still starts, runs ok but ...
Not working -
elec windows
indicators
blower/air con
all intrument panel inc tacho, speedo
wipers/washers
rev & stop lights
fog lights
voice synth

Still working
Lights
Horn
Radio
Hazards
Int lighting
clock/outside temp
elec mirrors
c/locking

I changed RELAY 1, thinking it might be that (under the bonnet) but still no good.
Checked all fuses plus the ones by the battery.

Any ideas anyone, cheers.

Checked all the main earth points, all are good. Thinking about it, all the things that do work do not require the ignition key to be on, whereas the problem items all have to have the key turned on.

When the key used to be turned, the warning lights etc would come on the dash, the temp gauge would max and then drop etc, but now none of that - so is it possible that I have a problem with the ignition switch?

When i bought my MKII Laguna i had the same problem. Mine was a blown fuse under where the gearlever/ashtray is, removed the ashtray where the OBDII port is and used a set of long nosed pliers to replace the fuse and hey presto everything worked again.

Thanks for that but I have a Laguna 1, probably a bit different. There is no mention of a fuse in the Haynes in that position - I am still scratching me 'ed. Still think it is something to do with the ignition switch not doing something as all the things that dont work dont seem to have a common fuse/earth etc, but all need to have the ignition on as far I am aware!

there is a black cover on the right of the battery, hidden in there is a load of big fat fuses.
you also have some on the fusebox under your right knee.
reseat and check all fuses and relays!

Yep, thanks, found that and have re-seated all the fuses already. But the relays, how do i know what relay does what (there are about 5 under the dash) and how do you check they are ok?
Like I said before I changed 'Relay 1' under the bonnet to no effect.

Got it sorted, had to take to garage, the cause was a burnt out connector on a large'ish board under the dash that has relays, fuses. and connector blocks on. Had to have the whole piece replaced, very expensive especially here in France!
Well, it fixed it, but now have another prob, see new thread :-(
