Right, to sum up my previous posts, and to add my experience of installing the item:

I do not have an iPod, therefore I went for the general mp3 solution. This means I bought the following:
-- Low Cost Car Audio | Aux Interfaces | Renault | Connects2 CTVRNX001 - Aux Adapter - Renault
-- Low Cost Car Audio | Autoleads PC5-83 *PC583 - ISO radio removal keys

My LagII has the sat nav fitted so the keys (2nd item above) remove that too. Removing both of the radio/CD unit and the GPS was easy and I could gain full access to the aperture in the dash without having to unplug either of them. They could hang from their cable looms without a problem. There is a plastic bit of trim which sits between the GPS and radio/CD and this can be easily unclipped if it hasn't popped off already so you can get your hand in. Looking into the aperture there is not much room on the left hand side because of the cup holder. However on the right hand side there is enough room to push the box-of-tricks to what would be somewhere behind the ignition starter button.

The cable supplied with the box-of-tricks to plug into the radio/CD does just that once the CD-multi-changer lead is removed. I used a cable-tie to tie the multi-changer lead to the new lead so that, if need be, I could find it later.

I figured there were two places I could route the lead with the 3.5mm stereo jack plug from behind the dash:
1) Out from the top right hand corner of the housing with the cd and GPS unit, just under the hinge of the folding down flap.
2) From where the steering column goes into the dash.

The 1st one would be more desirable as the cable could be conveniently tucked away when not in use, especially as the stereo jack plug fits neatly into those holes where the removal keys go to stop the lead trailing about the place. This may be possible with something long and pokey (straightened coat hanger or knitting needle) to lash the cable to, but not having those to hand at the time, no amount of wiggling and prodding could get the cable (or at least the phono style connectors which plug into the box-of-tricks) far enough back into the dash for me to get hold of them. I have therefore elected for the 2nd option (although I might have another go at the 1st).

Note on the back of both the radio/CD and the GPS units there is a rubber "finger", and if you look at the back of the aperture in the dash you will see where these locate to hold both units securely in place. So when you slide them back in, if they are angled down slightly it'll feel like something is snagging or blocking at the back, and this may be the case or it may just be the unit needs to be tipped up slightly so the "finger" locates properly. Put the radio/CD back in first so that cables from the GPS don't drop down and stop the radio/CD from sliding all the way in. Clip in the bit of plastic trim. Slide in the GPS. It maybe it'll take several attempts to slide the units back in as the cables behind them don't quite arrange themselves optimally!

If I hadn't spent an amount of futile time trying to get the stereo jack lead into my first option I suspect the whole operation would have taken less than 10 minutes!

If you have an iPod all the above applies. However if you want iPod specific connectivity then some of the above still may be useful, as might be my earlier post:
