Hi all, I just thought I'd update you on the resolution of my poor idle issue.
I took my Lag II for a diagnostic last week and paid £35.00 for the privilage of being told no errors showed up and the problem (revs dropping low and stalling) could not be diagnosed so not fixed.
I then read all about the job of the
sensor and decided to remove it (it's very easy on a Lag II) and give it a rub and spray it with WD40.
Guess what.....problem solved!!! The car's revs do not drop below the norm and the car does not threaten to stall any more. I hope the problem stays away.
So the big question is....why can I, a novice, spend 30 minutes under the bonet costing me £0.00 but an experienced professional can spend 1 hour pressing some buttons on a computer, take £35.00 of my money and not fixing a thing. How annoying.
Does anyone think I should challenge the mechanic for a refund?
