also open and close vehicle with the key rather than fob,
? Will that stop it going? Anyway - checking is trivial.
I've always been doing that - the fob has never worked.
also take a lead off battery whilst vehicle is open see what happens.
failing that you may need a reset.

if its oil the stop/serv should point to this,i would go with a reset.
What's involved in a reset?
Will try disconnecting battery.
Shouldn't make it worse.
