The door, boot, bonnet and handbrake warnings only activate once the vehicle has been moving for a short distance. The one that threw me at first is that you only get a spoken warning when disabling ESP. There is no similar message when re-enabling it.
The voice synthesizer is completely independent of the sat-nav. I ended up loading the male voice onto Carminat because the default female one seemed to have a speech impediment ("at the roundabout, take the thirth exit.") and the other female one sounded far too toffee-nosed for my liking. So now the car has a male voice for directions, and a female one for vehicle status.
My previous two Lagunas (2.0 RXE's) both had male voices for the vehicle status warnings. I can't say I'm bothered either way, but was slightly curious as to why they'd changed it.
