Give the engine time Horatio - it will loosen up, diesels take a lot longer to run in than petrols. You've probably driven a few thousand miles by now but they don't really start coming in to their own until about 10k. Also a diesel engine is a different drive to a petrol - not as quick away from the lights but mid range acceleration is great. It took me a while to get used to a diesel, I think the trick is to change up thru the gears quicker than you would in a petrol. Apart from the economy the other big advantage of diesel is the low down torque, great if you are towing ( which we don't by the way).
The 2.0dci 150 bhp sounds like a good engine, I would be interested in driving one of those.
