When I first saw this thread,I thought it was going to be about people coming out with full trolleys of cooking oil .(we dont have as many supermarket filling stations here)
My fuel pump on 1.5dci was replaced under guarantee.Their theory was I might have had "bad fuel" at somestage.
Whats to stop it happening again..? dunno,I dont visit trucks at the side of the road with "get yer cheap fuel here signs"!

Currently in coup's garage:
RM III coupe 1.5dci FVT,Audi TT Mk1 ,a bike and too much rubbish.
