Id been looking for a decent low mileage example for awhile:
Prior to wed 13th, some negotiations were done over the phone.
Went from 700 cost to me to about 200 cost to me,in that area.
I do have ins etc set up..change of policy, but not initiated yet (phew).
Tue 12th car passed thru nct(Irish MOT) ,np and no advisories.
Wed 13th: I drove the 200 odd miles to have a look see and drive.
I did about 5 miles on it solo, felt tight.no suspension noises..n probly a lil softer ride than the meg,(lot of speed bumps near the dealers).
Transmission a lil chattery at idle, nice sound engine n so on.
Very low rpm pickup really not much different to the meg,but higher up,well you gotta rush to change gear.
Clutch..seemed perfect to me
Did the usual interior /exterior check:
Tyres: (I didnt actually kick them
) good,no alloy marking.
Discs n pads seemed to have plenty of meat on..
Rear d/s lower bumper panel had some overspray and gap was tighter than opposite side.
Engine bay looked a lil(Ive been parked for awhile).Green mold
no visible corrugation (Ive been crashed and chassis straightened) on panels.
Seemed clean, drove well
33k ,last dealer stamp 29k.
Clutch: On reading
Probs : slippage at high load n rpm pedal feeling like it only comes up halfway n so on
I didnt notice any sloppy pedalness..slippage..hard to say ,I wasnt goin for a 0-60 time.
Replace cost £800 + labour.I dunno if thats a clutch only or complete kit.
It has I think a dmf.. ill have to research a bit.
Some owners have posted about clutch replacement every 12k miles or so
Aha I thought, thats probly with trackdays and driftin
Then theres info that if you piddle around the clutch doesnt last , it needs hard driving
Another fun fact.. its supposed to get a waiver on the nct/mot for the roller tests ,something about possible damage to the lsd (Maybe I should take some lsd, if still thinking of buying
Itd be ironic if the nct damaged it.
Thas the story so far
