Depends on what unit is fitted.
On the 5 seat scenic there is a primary cable from the unit to a regulator unit middle of the rear axle.
Then secondary cables to the calipers.
Replacing those secondary is possible and Renault supply the cable kit..though may deny it.
The regulator clogs up and really ought to be greased regularly.
Not too bad a job but does require complete removal of the handbrake unit and some jiggery pokery to slide the regulator to a point where it can be removed.
Hours labour if you know what you are doing, two to three otherwise as you work it out.
Cable kit around 50 quid.
Currently in Dancingdad's garage:
Qashqai 1.6 spark driven, Kia Sedona 2.9 TDI, Scenic II 15DCi 2004 (SORN) not quite RIP.
