Talking Fault Alrm Fix

Hi, I had the same problem with my Renault Trafic, see below to fix your car!

When the van is locked up the factory fitted alarm goes off without an obvious disturbance.

I found the answer!

When you open the bonet of the renault trafic van, you will find a black plastic nipple that makes contact with the press to make alarm switch just to the right of the bonet release lever.

This plastic nipple comes loose over time and goes off alignment with the alarm switch when the bonet is in its closed position. (Hence not creating continuity in the alarm circuit and it going off.)

To fix the problem, simply retighten with your fingers (FINGER TIGHT) HINT: I put a dab of tip ex on the switch spindle, and closed the bonet to make sure it made contact with the Plastic nipple. It now works PERFECTLY, and I saved myself a big bill from a RENAULT MAIN DEALER!
