Re: MEGANE II - bonnet won't open, solution
Firstly I'd like to say many thanks for this post, it was really useful.
Unfortunately, I couldn't for the life of me work out how to get at the cable joint (the bit in the plastic 'box' that had separated) so I used a slightly different technique.
Firstly I located the end of the cable where it attaches to the actual bonnet release mechanism. This lives behind a spring which is behind the grey plastic grill which was previously removed. Where the cable nipple sits, there is a slight recess so I took a bicycle spoke and located the head of the spoke into this (having first made a loop at the other end to pull on). Holding the head of the spoke in the recess with the end of your finger, pool the spoke to the right with your other hand. This will release the bonnet so you can get to the cable joint and proceed with the ty-rap fix.
