Importance of a warranty
Just a quick note.
I bought a Laguna 2. 1.8 privilege with a 2 year warranty plus a 2 year roadside (RAC) assistance deal.
I have had the car for about 15 months and the story so far is: Offside front window , electric motor etc replaced free (cost in excess of £250)
New rear nearside brake caliper fitted free ( handbrake stopped working)
Front main spring replaced free (broke whilst parked luckily)
Both sides track rod ends replaced free( although the warranty is not supposed to cover wear and tear)
Both sides rear discs and pads replaced ( cost £155, which I thought was very reasonable)
Spare card entry reprogrammed free of charge. Audio cover replaced free of charge.
Does it pay to get a warranty? Oh I think it does.
Thank you Reg Vardy ( or whoever it is now, Evans Hallshaw I think) for providing the warranty, and excellent back-up.
The RAC picked the car up from my door within 1 hour of my call, and Vardy's did all the repairs and dealt with the warranty people for me.
Nice to have a positive comment on auto repairs these days innit.
