Cost of ECU & Throttle body

Getting expensive! Have you already had to pay for new throttle body and fitting?

I have been quoted 130+vat+carriage to recon my throttle body . Since my problems sound similar to yours it may be an ECU I need. I will try to get a quote for that as well. I also need to ask them about programming it after fitting - they say thier recons have virgin codes! Not sure what that means!

I suspect it may be best to send both off and ask for them to be tested. Hopefully this would show up which i faulty or if I am unlucky both).

My problem is the car is no longer taxed so I can't drive it to somewhere to get it seen to.

I wonder if the "fault with the throttle body " is actually a fault with the ECU not connecting/driving the throttle Body correctly.
