I think all the wee electrical gremlins are tied in to the one problem ...... a fuse. My Scenic did the very same thing and it was a 10 amp fuse on an auxiliary circuit that had blown. The garage sorted it in about 5 mins.
I wouldn't accept they are unable to help until June tell them you were stopped by a traffic cop and he pointed out it's illegal to drive without operational windscreen washers ........ it worked for me It's funny how their mind will change
All the brakes seem to squeal on these cars, but I do believe there have been some modified pads available if it's really bad. You'll just have to argue this one out I'm afraid.
I bought the Renault mats for mine and was pleasantly surprised how reasonably priced they were. Ask at the parts desk the next time you're at the dealers, they also usually keep these in stock.
