Renault Clio I - Engines - Timing belt failure help needed

Hi, my clio's timing belt snapped the other day, basically the engine cut out. So as you do you turn it over to try and start it, this was before id realised what had happened.

Anyway since the timing belt had snapped turning it over forced the pistons(?) to buckle under the pressure built up, so i need a whole new timing kit. Some gareages have been quoting me up to 300+ to have this done!

Is this the usual price for thids kind of thing?
